In the midst of all of this excitement, people have to find the time to pack. Although this shouldn’t be a difficult task, many people struggle with what and how to pack when heading overseas.
Here are a few packing tips for those planning to travel abroad.
- Make a list: Making a list is a great way to ensure you bring everything you need and everything you don’t. It is easy to overpack, but with a last, you can actually sit down and look at what you plan to pack. If there is something you are missing or something that needs to go, just add or remove it from the list before you start packing.
- Avoid bringing electronics: While on vacation, you will probably be so busy enjoying the sights that you won’t have much time to play with your gizmos and gadgets. Of course, you’ll want to bring your cell phone and camera along, but anything else may be unnecessary.
- Limit toiletries: You will have limited space in your bag, so you want to be selective about the toiletries you bring and set a limit for the ones you do decide to pack. Whether your bring shampoo, conditioner or body wash, don’t bring the whole bottle. Toiletries are easily something you can pick up once you reach your destination, and you should consider doing so.
- Don’t pack new shoes: New shoes need to be broken in, so it can be uncomfortable to wear them on vacation, especially if you will walking around a lot. Take a look at the shoes you currently have in your closet and aim for something comfortable. Your new shoes may look great with the outfits you have selected
Packing can be difficult, but that doesn’t mean you have struggle every time you go out of town. You may want to back your favorite bras from Aerie, five pairs of shoes and every electronic you own, but this isn’t a good idea for trip abroad. You want to ensure you have a good time, and believe it or not, what you do and don’t pack can have an effect on this.
